Best Nightclubs in Marrakech (2026): An Honest Local Guide

Written byKhalil – go-out.ma
Updated19/08/2026

Key Takeaways

The Marrakech clubs worth your night, with real opening hours, Google ratings and dress codes. Where locals go, what to skip, and how to actually get a table.

The Short Version

Marrakech nightlife lives in Hivernage. Ten of the city's clubs sit in that one district, most of them within walking distance of each other. Nothing starts before midnight, dress codes are enforced, and the best tables are booked on WhatsApp days ahead — not at the door.

Below: which clubs are actually worth your night, which ones coast on their reputation, and how to get in without wasting an hour on the pavement.

How a Night Out Actually Runs Here

Marrakech runs on a schedule that catches most visitors out. If you show up at a club at 23:00, you will be alone in the room with the staff.

The real sequence:

  • 19:00 – 20:30 — Sunset on a rooftop bar. This is the only part of the evening with a hard deadline: the light goes fast.
  • 21:00 – 23:00 — Dinner. Restaurants do not fill before 21:00, and dinner-show venues run their first performance around 22:00.
  • 00:00 – 01:00 — Clubs start filling. Not before.
  • 01:00 – 05:00 — The actual night. Most Hivernage clubs close at 05:00.

Plan backwards from 01:00, not forwards from dinner.

The Best Nightclubs in Marrakech

Babouchka — the highest-rated room in the city

Hivernage · 4.8 on Google (4,214 reviews) · midnight to 05:00, seven nights

Babouchka has the best rating of any club in Marrakech, and it is not close. Red velvet, chandeliers, curated house rather than a chart-hits playlist. It draws a mixed local and international crowd rather than a purely tourist one, which is exactly why it works.

If you only have one club night in Marrakech, this is the safest bet in the city.

Theatro — the spectacle

Hivernage · 4.4 (3,927 reviews) · 23:30 to 05:00, seven nights

Set inside a converted theatre at the Es Saadi Resort, open since 2003, and still the club most people name when you ask about Marrakech. The draw is not just the music: acrobats, dancers and full theatrical productions run through the night on the old stage.

It genuinely does not start before 01:00. Arrive at 23:30 and you will watch the staff set up.

See Theatro →

Epicurien — dinner that turns into a club

Hivernage · 4.6 (7,955 reviews) · 20:00 to 05:00, seven nights

Inside the Casino de Marrakech. The most reviewed nightlife venue on this list by a wide margin, which tells you something about the volume it handles. You eat, a live band plays, and somewhere around midnight the room stops being a restaurant.

The best option if your group cannot agree on dinner versus dancing, because you do not have to choose. Book the table rather than turning up for the door.

So Lounge — live music before the DJ

Hivernage · 4.4 (2,157 reviews) · 19:30 to 04:30, seven nights

Inside the Sofitel. So Lounge leans harder on live performance than anywhere else in Hivernage — full band, brass, vocalists — before handing over to DJs later. Big room, big sound, terrace attached.

Better for a group that wants to hear something rather than shout over it.

Leone Discoteca — the one for people who care about the music

Hivernage · 4.6 (122 reviews) · Friday and Saturday only, midnight to 05:00 · €€€€

The newest room on this list and the most specific. Deep house and afro-electronic, a DJ-centred layout rather than a bottle-service layout, inside Villa Yvette.

Two things to know: it opens two nights a week only, and the price bracket is the top one. If you arrive on a Wednesday expecting it to be open, you will be disappointed.

Buddha Bar — the reliable first night

Hivernage · 4.3 (4,504 reviews) · 20:00 to 03:00, seven nights

Asian dining downstairs, lounge energy upstairs, closing earlier than the rest at 03:00. Not the wildest room in Hivernage, and it does not pretend to be.

Good for a first night when you want atmosphere without committing to a 05:00 finish.

See Buddha Bar →

The Lotus Club — dinner show, properly done

Hivernage · 4.2 (1,305 reviews) · 19:30 to 03:00, seven nights

A restored 1930s villa, a resident performance troupe, and a room that shifts from dinner to cabaret to club across the evening. More theatrical and less pure-club than Theatro.

[See The Lotus Club →](/nightclubs/the-lotus-club)

555 Famous Club — the big room

Agdal · 3.8 (923 reviews) · 23:00 to 05:00, seven nights

On Boulevard Mohammed VI, away from the Hivernage cluster. Built for scale — large floor, heavy production, international DJ bookings. The rating is the lowest of the well-known venues, and the complaints tend to be about service and door policy rather than the room itself.

Worth it for a specific booking. Less so as a default.

Monte Cristo — four venues in one building

Guéliz · 3.8 (890 reviews) · 20:00 to 05:00, seven nights

The main reason to go to Guéliz rather than Hivernage for a club night. Open since 2004, stacked across four floors: restaurant, live-music bar, shisha terrace, then the club at the top of the night.

Useful when your group wants different things at the same time.

The rest, honestly

  • W Club — Hivernage, 3.7 (383 reviews), midnight to 05:00, inside the Savoy Le Grand. Serious sound and light rig; reviews are mixed.
  • Secret Room — Hivernage, 3.7 (723 reviews), 23:00 to 05:00, €€€€. Premium pricing, mid ratings.
  • Pacha Marrakech — Agdal, 3.7, Friday and Saturday only, 23:00 to 06:00, €€€€. The name carries weight, but only 69 people have reviewed it. Check who is playing before committing.
  • Nikki Beach — Palmeraie, 3.7. Worth flagging clearly: this is a day club, open 11:30 to 18:30. It is a pool party, not a night out.

Where to Go, by District

Hivernage is the answer for almost everyone. Babouchka, Theatro, Epicurien, So Lounge, Buddha Bar, Leone, The Lotus Club, W Club and Secret Room are all here, most of them a short walk apart. If one room is flat, you move to the next in five minutes.

Guéliz is the local alternative — Baromètre (4.8) for cocktails, Kissko (4.9) and Entrepotes (4.5) for the earlier part of the night, Monte Cristo when you want to keep going.

The Medina is not where you club. It is where you eat and watch the sun go down — Kabana and Salama Skybar both look straight at the Koutoubia. Then you take a taxi to Hivernage.

Palmeraie and the Route de l'Ourika are for specific venues rather than an area you wander — Bo-Zin (4.1, open until 04:00, garden setting) and Nikki Beach in daylight. Both need a taxi each way.

Club or Dinner Show?

Marrakech blurs this line more than most cities, and it confuses visitors.

A pure club — Babouchka, Theatro after 01:00, Leone, W Club, Secret Room, 555 — means arriving after midnight to a dance floor.

A dinner showEpicurien, The Lotus Club, So Lounge, Le Blokk, Bendoo, Azar — means a seated meal with live performance, usually from 20:00, sometimes rolling into club hours.

If your group includes anyone who does not want a 04:00 finish, book a dinner show. Everyone gets an evening; the ones who want more move on afterwards.

Dress Code

This is where visitors get turned away, and the rule is simple: Hivernage has a real dress code and it is enforced.

  • No shorts. Not on men, not in summer, not "but it was 40°C today."
  • No flip-flops or sandals.
  • Trainers are a gamble — some doors accept clean white ones, others do not. Wear proper shoes if you care about getting in.
  • Men: long trousers and a shirt is the safe floor.
  • Women: smart dress or a smart top with trousers. Marrakech clubs skew dressy rather than casual.

Guéliz bars are more relaxed. The Hivernage clubs are not.

Booking a Table

The single most useful thing to know about Marrakech nightlife: tables go through WhatsApp, not through websites.

  • Message ahead for Friday and Saturday. Those two nights fill, and the door is far less flexible when the room is full.
  • Bottle service is the normal way to hold a table at Hivernage clubs — you are effectively paying for the seat.
  • A booked table is also the reliable way past the door. Groups without a reservation get filtered.
  • Confirm on the day. Plans shift.

Every venue page on this site carries its contact details and, where available, a direct WhatsApp button.

Practical Things That Save Your Night

  • Taxis: use a Petit Taxi with the meter on, or a ride app. Agree the price first if the meter is "broken". Getting home at 05:00 is easier than you expect — there are always taxis outside Hivernage clubs.
  • Ramadan: the calendar changes everything. Dates move each year, most clubs close or heavily reduce hours, and the city's rhythm shifts to late-night eating instead. Check before you book flights.
  • Sunday to Wednesday: most Hivernage clubs open seven nights, but the rooms are noticeably quieter. Thursday to Saturday is when they fill.
  • Cash: bars and clubs generally take cards, but keep cash for taxis.

Safety-wise, Hivernage at night is one of the more comfortable parts of the city — well lit, busy, heavily staffed. Our honest safety guide goes through the specifics.

Where to Start

If it is your first night: sunset at Kabana, dinner at Epicurien, then Babouchka or Theatro after 01:00. That sequence is the city at its best, and everything in it is a short taxi ride from everything else.

For the rest of the trip, the full Marrakech travel guide covers when to go, what to wear and how to get around.
