Quad Biking in Marrakech (2026): Prices, Rules, Safety Checks
Key Takeaways
Quad rides in the Palmeraie last about 2 hours and cost roughly 21 to 45 EUR per person. Check riding time, pickup, insurance and the refund rule before you pay.
Quad biking in Marrakech is a guided ride of about 2 hours through the Palmeraie palm groves and the dunes beyond. On the listings we read, prices run from about 21 EUR for a passenger seat to 45 EUR for a package with hotel pickup. The catch is the clock: many "2-hour" offers count riding time only, and transfers can turn them into a 3-hour outing. This guide shows how to compare offers, what is normally included and what to check before you pay.
What a Palmeraie quad ride looks like
The Palmeraie is the palm grove just north of the city, and almost every quad offer starts there. The listing for Kasbah Le Mirage & Spa describes a guided circuit of about 40 km through palm groves, dunes and earth-built Berber hamlets, with a mid-ride stop for Moroccan tea and pancakes. Cap Adrénaline describes a similar route through the Palmeraie and the desert beyond, toward the edge of the Atlas, with a tea and photo stop before the return to base.
Before you ride, a guide briefs the group on the quads. Gear on the Kasbah Le Mirage listing includes a helmet, goggles, a balaclava and a rain jacket. Cap Adrénaline lists helmets and masks.
What a quad ride costs
These are the prices shown on the pages we read. Currencies and inclusions differ, so compare line by line.
| Offer | Price shown | Riding time | What the page says is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kasbah Le Mirage & Spa, driver | From 41.87 EUR | About 2 hours | Quad, fuel, safety gear, guide, tea and pancakes |
| Same offer, passenger | From 20.94 EUR | About 2 hours | Child supplement (ages 2 to 12) from 19.03 EUR |
| Same offer, two-seat buggy | From 152.26 EUR | About 2 hours | Same inclusions |
| Cap Adrénaline | From 45 EUR | About 2 hours | Hotel or riad pickup and drop-off, briefing, helmet and mask, mint tea |
| Evan Evans on Headout | 25 EUR | About 2 hours | Round-trip hotel transfers, briefing, helmet, quad and fuel, mint tea, bottled water. Tickets cannot be cancelled or rescheduled |
Resale listings on Expedia and Rezdy show 2-hour Palmeraie rides from roughly 20 to 40 USD, or from 26 EUR on Rezdy. The Kasbah Le Mirage listing offers departures at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm, and its page does not mention hotel pickup.
A worked example shows why the price line needs reading. For two adults, using the prices above:
- one quad shared (driver plus passenger) at Kasbah Le Mirage: 41.87 + 20.94 = 62.81 EUR
- two quads (two drivers) at Kasbah Le Mirage: 83.74 EUR
- Cap Adrénaline, two people with pickup included: 90 EUR
- Evan Evans on Headout, two people with transfers: 50 EUR, but with no cancellation or rescheduling
The cheapest line is not the cheapest outing once you add a taxi, or lose the ride to a rainy morning.
The "2 hours" trap
Ask one question before booking: is that riding time, or the whole outing? Cap Adrénaline says about two hours of riding and gives no total including transfers, while the Morocco Adventours quad outing with hotel pickup is listed as 3 hours. The cheapest full package we found, the 25 EUR ride on Headout, includes hotel transfers but cannot be cancelled or rescheduled, so a bad weather morning is your loss. Pickup is also not always included in the headline price elsewhere, and it can add real time and cost.
Compare offers on three lines only: riding time in minutes, whether pickup is included, and the cancellation rule. The cheapest quote often leaves one of them out.
Who can ride and what is not allowed
- Age: Cap Adrénaline sets the minimum age at 16 to drive and 6 to ride as a passenger, with parental authorisation for minors. Other operators set their own limits, so ask.
- Driving licence: none of the pages we read mentions one. Ask when you book.
- Alcohol and drugs: not allowed. The Kasbah Le Mirage listing says the guide may refuse a rider for reckless driving or intoxication.
- Pregnancy and disability: an Expedia listing says the activity is generally not suitable for pregnant women, and Cap Adrénaline says it is not suitable for people with disabilities.
- Weather: Cap Adrénaline reschedules rides cancelled for weather or breakdown, but its page does not mention refunds. Ask before you pay.
What to wear and bring
Cap Adrénaline asks for sportswear. Our advice: closed shoes, long trousers you do not mind covering in dust, sunglasses, and a scarf if the operator does not provide a balaclava. Leave sandals at the hotel. Tips for the guide are usually not included in the price, and photos, videos and personal insurance are often extra, so carry some cash. Our ATMs and exchange guide shows where to get dirhams.
In summer, take the morning departure rather than the afternoon one. Our guide to the best time to visit Marrakech explains how hot the city gets and when.
Five checks that matter more than the price
- Gear fit. Helmet and goggles should fit before you start, not be handed out on the track.
- Briefing. You should get a briefing on the controls and the group rules before the engine starts.
- Insurance. Cap Adrénaline's page does not mention insurance, and other listings say personal insurance is often extra. Ask what is covered if you fall.
- Group size per guide. Ask how many quads follow one guide.
- Refund rule. Get the weather and cancellation terms in writing.
Shorter, longer and combined options
Not every offer is a 2-hour ride. The Morocco Adventours listing on Manawa shows a 3-hour quad or buggy outing from 60 EUR with hotel pickup and tea, a buggy outing at 95 EUR, and a 4.5-hour quad and camel combination at 85 EUR. It says everyone from 10 years old can join, you must be 16 to drive, and bad weather means free rescheduling or a refund. A meal costs 15 EUR extra per person.
The AAA Trip Canvas listing shows a shorter 1 hour 30 minute quad ride from 40.76 USD and a camel and quad combination of about 2 hours 30 minutes from 52.41 USD. Note how the age rules differ between operators: 6 or 10 as the minimum for passengers, 16 for drivers.
If speed and dust are the point, a quad ride is the most active choice in the Palmeraie. If you would rather sit back, read our guide to the camel ride in Marrakech. For a view from above, see the hot air balloon guide. For a full evening in the stone desert, read the Agafay desert guide. Our guide to getting around Marrakech covers taxis and transfers if your quad offer does not include pickup. Save the emergency numbers for Marrakech before any outdoor activity.
After the ride: wash off the dust
A hammam is the obvious next stop. Spa La Sultana in the Medina is rated 4.6 from 527 Google reviews and is listed as open 24 hours. Heritage Spa is rated 4.7 from 844 reviews and opens 10 am to 8 pm. In Hivernage, Spa Yemaya is rated 4.6 and opens 10 am to 10 pm.
For lunch, La Famille is a vegetarian garden terrace in the Medina rated 4.3 from 1,531 reviews, open 12 to 4 pm and closed on Sundays. For more ideas, see our guide to things to do in Marrakech.
The short version
Book a morning slot, confirm the riding time and the pickup in writing, and take the offer that includes gear and a briefing over the cheapest one. Then book a hammam for the afternoon and a table for the evening from the venue pages above.
